In a shocking incident, the granddaughter of former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa was today found dead in her flat in Bengaluru on Friday. She was a doctor by profession. Named Soundarya, the 30-year-old woman was the daughter of Padmavathi, BSY's daughter. She got married in 2018 to a doctor.

As per media reports, the police are suspecting that Soundarya died by suicide. A preliminary investigation is on. Survived by her husband and their infant, the deceased woman was known for being a professional.

ANI has reported that a postmortem was going on at Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital in the afternoon. The High Grounds Police Station in Bengaluru has taken up an investigation.

As for BSY, he was asked to step down as the CM by the BJP High Command in July 2021. Basavaraj Bommai took over after him. There are murmurs that the BJP bosses are dissatisfied with his performance.
