'Maari-2' was supposed to release on December 21 only in Tamil. The makers, however, have announced its simultaneous release in Telugu as well.

This Friday, the Dhanush-starrer is going to lock horns with 'Padi Padi Leche Manasu', 'Antariksham' and 'KGF'. The last of these three films carries no buzz.The other two are the ones that count. Dhanush has to somehow manage to grab the audience's attention amid heavy competition from 'PPLM' and Varun Tej's space thriller.

The only big advantage that 'Maari-2' now has is Sai Pallavi. She is playing an auto driver in this mass film. Curiously, most audiences are looking forward to watching her in 'PPLM', which is a love story and has much space for the 'Fidaa' actress. In 'Maari-2', the 'MCA' actress is dominated by Dhanush. Moreover, the teaser and trailer of 'PPLM' have successfully created interest in her character.

Even so, can it be hoped that the actress will save 'Maari-2' amid the tight competition at the box-office?
