Big-ticket films spell unprecedented trouble for medium-ticket and small-ticket films when they change their scheduled release date for either avoidable or unavoidable reasons. This Summer, the repeated postponement of Mahesh Babu's Brahmotsavam upset the plans of many a producer.

This July, it is the turn of Kabali to upset the plans of Naga Chaitanya's film. The constant deferment of this gangster drama's release has meant that the producer of Saahasam Swasaga Saagipo has been undecided on the release date. Kabali has been pushed to July 15 in Telugu and Tamil. This has put a question mark over the release of SSS that week. This date was zeroed in on after Kabali's makers allegedly set their eyes on July 1.

Chaitu's troubles wouldn't have been enormous had it been the case that he had no other release in near future. But he has it: in the form of Premam. There has to be a gap of at least one month between these two to make the most out of the potential. Premam mightn't just release on Aug 12 and it means that Janata Garage is going to have a field day.

With Venkatesh-starrer Babu Bangaram hitting the screens on July 29, SSS may be best advised not to go for that date. The fact that both Premam and Babu Bangaram are produced by the same production house necessitates that there is adequate gap between these two films. So, will Premam be pushed to September? Wait and watch!
