Chakram

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Telugu Comments

Chakram, in many ways, is an appropriate title for this film. It is the wheel of fortune for many.

Starting with Krishna Vamsi, the director himself. After the failure of Sri Anjaneyam, there were some searching questions asked about Vamsi's ability to make a film for the new generation. The general belief is that though he is a gritty director, his skill sets are suitable more to the middle-aged viewers. Vamsi is hoping to break that notion.

He says Chakram will provide an all-new viewing pleasure. The film's basic idea stemmed from a small poem that Sri Vennela had penned several years ago. Nationalism, romance, love for other the film is said to be a cornucopia of emotions.

For Prabhas, the film's hero, it is again an important one as he has to show that he is real contender for the top slot in the industry. He did have his problems doing the film. But those things are behind him. He is said to have come up with a convincing portrayal. After Varsham and Adavi Ramudu last year, he has to keep his good work going.

Asin and Charmy, the two heroines, have also a lot of stake in the film. Charmy, after the failure Chanti, kind of redeemed herself in Maas. Yet, she needs a sturdy portrayal to be part of the race. Ditto for Asin. The young Malayalam girl has taken this film so seriously that she has dubbed in her own voice for this film.

Chakri's music has a different feel to it and the songs of Chakram are already a hit in the market.

The film is slated for release in the latter part of this month.

Hope this wheel of fortune revolves on the right axis.
