Venkat Prabhu says that the movie Chennai 600028 has no resemblance to the Oscar-entrant Laagan.

“Though both revolve around cricket, they differ from each other”, he said.

“The whole movie is based on the problems confronting a local cricket team. To give a realistic flavor, the ones who are playing in the local tournaments, are part of the acting team. The game is only part of their lives, as along the way there is the experience to treasure of love, friendship and the inevitable difference of opinion”.

Produced by S P B Charan and J.K Saravana, Chennai 600028 was slated for release on 14 April but backed out at the last moment to release on 27 April.

The climax was shot in more than 10 days with the help of around 5000 co-artistes at the Somasundaram ground in Chennai.

Yuvan's music is already a big hit. It goes on to show that the movie would also repeat the same magic.
