This week has seen the name of a particular Indian-American with Telangana roots make headlines. He is Cholleti Vinay Reddy, the speechwriter of America's 46th President Joe Biden. The other day, soon after Biden delivered his speech, not only his words resonated but Reddy's name was mentioned by sections of India's media in standalone reports. Khaleej Times reported that Reddy was also a deputy speechwriter for the Obama-Biden re-election campaign.

Although born and brought up in Ohio, Reddy's achievement has brought in a semblance of celebratory mood in Pothireddypeta, his ancestral village in Telangana. Reports talked about his background, mentioning that his grandfather, Tirupathi, was a village sarpanch way back in the 1980s.

Reddy holds a law degree from the Ohio State University College of Law, and true to his profession, he seems to have developed writing skills like only a few. He holds four acres of land in his ancestral village and agricultural crops are grown on the land. It's reported that he and his wife visit this place once in a while.
