Veerabhadram of 'Aha Na Pellanta' and 'Poola Rangadu' fame is confident that 'Chuttalabbai', starring Aadi in the lead role, will hit the bull's eye. Two days ahead of the worldwide release on August 19, the director opens up:

How is 'Chuttalabbai' going to be?

I feel that doing a golden film like 'Chuttalabbai' is itself something special. It's an out-and-out family entertainer. Audiences these days want to seek fun for the time they are watching a movie. They are want to relieve themselves of the stress. Our film will ensure entertainment. After watching the first copy, I knew the output was 200 per cent better than what we expected.

What are Aadi and Namitha's characters like?

Aadi is playing a character by name Recovery Babjee. Be it his body language, dialogue delivery, looks or anything, he is totally different from how he was in his previous movies. This is the costliest movie in his career. 'Chuttalabbai' will be a bigger hit than 'Prema Kavali' and 'Lovely'. We zeroed in on Namitha Pramod after considering a number of heroines. She has done about 50 movies in Malayalam. Her performance is a big asset. Yamini Malhotra is the second heroine.

What is the title justification?

The story is about a youngster who enters the scene as an affable 'chuttalabbai'. What he does forms the crux of the story. We have shot in Hyderabad, Bangkok, Vizag, Rajahmundry, Vikarabad forest, Ramoji Film City, among others.

What about comedy quotient?

Comedy scenes involving Brahmanandam, Posani Krishna Murali, Raghu Babu, Krishna Bhagawan will have the audience convulsing with laughter. Prudhvi's comedy will be a major highlight.

Why should we watch this movie?

I learnt filmmaking from someone like EVV Sathyanarayana garu for 10 years. I believe in his style of delivering entertainment. I worked as an assistant, associate and co-director under the likes of Krishna Vamsi and Teja. Anil Sunkara garu and RR Venkat garu encouraged me to make 'Aha Naa Pellanta' and 'Poola Rangadu'. I made 'Bhai' with Annapurna Studios. Hits and flops are a matter of course in the industry. I have made 'Chuttalabbai' with the intention of delivering full-on entertainment. I am confident that people will lap it up.

There is a rumour that the budget got overshot?

This being their first movie, the producers wanted to make it without compromising anywhere on quality. We are happy with the output. Whatever budget had to be put, it went into bringing out better quality.

What is Sai Kumar's character like?

There is a key role, which only he can play. Upon listening to the narration, he was thoroughly impressed. The scenes where he is seen are power-packed. He is playing a revered villager with whom big farmers will relate themselves to.

Tell us about the production values.

The producers (Ram Talluri and Venkat Talari) have expended more than what Aadi's market warrants. We have been positive about the result from the word go. The craze has only gone up after the release of the first look and the trailer. Three of the songs have been used as caller tunes by listeners. The rights have been bought by distributors for fancy price.

Tell us about Thaman's music?

Thaman has composed all the five songs differently.

What are your upcoming movies?

I have committed myself to two films. One of them will be under the same banner.
