College student commits suicide after being accused of copying in exam

A first year BA student of the Fatima Mata College of Kollam jumped in front of a train after being accused of copying in her semester examination. The body of the deceased female has been identified as Rakhi Krishna of Kollam.

“She was taken out of the hall by the invigilation squad and asked to sit outside. She later left the room saying she wanted to use the toilet,” a police official of Kollam said. She decided to end her life after she faced alleged harassment by the squad members, according to the students.

The police have filed a case, and her body has been taken to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital where an autopsy will be conducted.
