Congress president Rahul Gandhi has asserted that the party would not only win next year’s Lok Sabha polls but would also emerge victorious in all the polls in various States to be held ahead of the general elections.

Parliamentary elections are due to be held during next April-May.  The Congress Party, which is attempting to upset the ruling BJP’s apple-cart, held a ‘Jan Aakrosh’ (People’s Anger) rally at the national capital yesterday.  People attended the rally in huge numbers; Congress president Rahul Gandhi, his mother Sonia Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other party leaders took part in the rally.

Addressing the rally, Rahul said that there was all-round blockade of progress in almost all Govt. sectors.  “Farmers across the country are going through torrid times; the state of affairs in the country has hit a new low in the absence of a Congress regime at the Centre.  Wherever I go, I ask people if they are happy with the present arrangement and invariably, I only get a negative reply from all those who spoke to me.

“People are terribly angry with the BJP regime at the Centre.  Their anger would reflect in Congress’ victory not only in next year’s Parliamentary elections but also in the upcoming Karnataka, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls prior to that,” Rahul said amid thunderous applause from the crowds.
