Rabri Devi, former Bihar chief-minister and wife of former Bihar chief-minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Laloo Prasad Yadav, has alleged that a conspiracy was being hatched to kill her husband and the entire family.

Laloo’s nemesis and Janata Dal (U) leader Nithsh Kumar ditched him and the Congress to form a Govt. in alliance with the BJP a few months back.  Laloo, who has been found guilty in more than one fodder scam case, is toiling in a Patna prison.  It is in this backdrop that Laloo’s wife Rabri Devi dropped the ‘conspiracy’ bombshell while speaking to newsmen yesterday.

“There were 39 cops in duty at our Patna residence; I and my husband are the former chief-ministers of the State and were as such provided with adequate security cover. However, all the security guards stand withdrawn since Wednesday night, thus exposing myself and other members of our family at the mercy of our detractors and political enemies.

“I also have reason to believe that a conspiracy is being hatched by vested interests to kill my husband in his prison cell.  I heard they are planning to stage-manage the killing by giving him poisonous medicine.  In case something had befalls any member of our family, the Centre and the Nitish Kumar-led State Govt. would have to take full responsibility for the same,” Rabri Devi concluded.
