According to police, the Kallaperambur police had received a call from Raja's brother Vinoth of Pudukottai stating that Raja had sent a voice message in which he had stated that he and his family members are going to end their life owing to financial crises.

Kallaperambur police rushed to the residence of Raja only to find all three dead. Raja, who was engaged in the real estate business, also owned a tea shop at Thiruvaiyaru. It is reported that Raja was not able to clear his debts as he incurred a huge loss in his real estate business due to Covid 19 pandemic

The Kallaperambur police have taken the bodies to a government hospital for postmortem examinations and have registered a case of death under suspicious circumstances.
