The official updates for COVID 19 in Tamil Nadu has shown another huge spike today after 2865 new patients tested positive in the past twenty four hours taking up the total number of cases in the state to 67,468. Chennai today reported its highest ever number of 1654 and now there are currently 45,814 patients in the capital city alone. 33 persons lost their lives today rising the death toll to 866 out of whom 668 were from Chennai.
The heartening factor is that today 2424 patients were discharged.pushing the number of recoveries to 37,763 which is well over the half of the infected count. Testing too has been high with 29,655 persons tested today. The second-highest number of 131 cases has been reported from the Chengalput district.
