COVID-19: 36,469 new infections and other highlights

All-India figure of cumulative COVID-19 cases now stands at 79,46,429. The country has been witnessing a very good rate of recovery. The stats speak for themselves:

Recovered: 90.32% (72,01,070 cases, approximately)

Active cases: 7.88% (6,25,857 cases, approximately)

So far, about 1,19,502 (1.5%) patients have died due to coronavirus.

On Monday, about 36,469 new infections got registered. India saw 488 new deaths in 24 hours.

As per Prof. Shamika Ravi, active cases are falling in India at -2.5% rate. As per ICMR, 10,44,20,894 samples were tested upto October 26.
