It's known that Netflix is producing a web series based on Anand Neelakantan's novel 'The Rise of Sivagami'. Billed as a prequel to 'Baahubali-The Beginning', the series will introduce the world of Sivagami, her past and more.

If Ramya Krishna essayed the iconic character in the movie franchise, 'Love Sonia' actress Mrunal Thakur from Mumbai will step into her shoes for the web series. The 26-year-old Mrunal has done TV serials in the past. She has acted in a few Bollywood movies.

As is known, Deva Katta and Praveen Sattaru will be directing this series. It will be a big-budgeted affair. As per some reports, Rahul Bose (was recently seen in 'Vishwaroopam-2') and Atul Kulkarni (the 'Ghazi' actor) will be essaying key roles in this series.
