Former Prime Minister and Janatal Dal (S) president H.D. Deve Gowda has termed the Congress chief-minister Siddaramaiah's Govt. in the State as the 'worst' he has ever seen in his life.

The 84-year old veteran, who served as Prime Minister from June, 1996 to April, 1997, was at his critical best as he took on the Congress regime ahead of the Assembly polls in the State which are to be held soon. While the Congress is desperate to retain power, the BJP and the JD(S) are plotting to spoil the Congress' designs. Though the BJP and the JD(S) haven't yet allied for the polls, it appears that it is imminent.

Shravanabelagola in Hassan District in the State is to hold on February 07 the once-in-twelve-years affair of the popular Jain festival 'Mahamasthabhishekha' in which President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Karnataka chief-minister Siddaramaiah and Deve Gowda would take part. On Monday, Haasan's active deputy commissioner Rohini Sindoori has been shunted out in an unexpected transfer even as she was making arrangements to put things in place for the above-said festival.

"I have never seen a Govt. performing as bad as the Siddaramaiah-led Govt. in Karnataka. There is no need but some cheap political mileage in transferring Rohini Sindoori at a time when she is functioning in an appropriate manner. In order to register my protest against this transfer, I have decided not to join the chief-minister on stage during the function and would write about this to the President," Gowda said.
