As the D-day approaches, Prakash Raj has sought to throw some light on his directorial debut, Dhoni. The Telugu-Tamil bi-lingual, which is based on Mahesh Manjrekar's Marathi film Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho, is slated to release on Feb. 10. The film, says Raj, does not find fault with the present day education system. In fact, the film holds the view that it is our perceptions of it that are wrong.

Saying that the movie is about "middle class life", Raj says that Dhoni has been chosen as the title keeping in view cricketer MSD's status as an icon. The versatile actor was impelled to make the film "on seeing these situations at home." To elaborate on this, "My daughter is studying in X1 grade and I could see the pressure building since she was in the Eighth grade. Similar was the case with my nephew", he said.

If he were to make his distinct mark in the film, both as director and actor, he will be ascribed the best titles. One hopes that Dhoni carries the signature of Prakash’s mature understanding and convictions.
