Director Gautham Menon had last directed the Simbu starrer Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyadaa which was made as a bilingual with the Telugu version starring Naga Chaitanya. The movie was an average outing at the box office, and since then, the director has not had any releases so far.

His two movies Dhanush starrer Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta and Vikram starrer Dhruva Natchathiram are both awaiting release for more than an year now, and the director has also completed a web series Queen, based on the life of former CM Jayalalitha. He is also planning to direct several movies.

Now it has been revealed that Gautham Menon will join actor Sibiraj's next movie Walter as an actor, and it has been said he will be playing an extended cameo in an interesting role. Walter directed by Anbarasan also stars Samuthirakani and Shirin Kanchwala. Gautham Menon has made cameo appearances in many of his movies and was seen in a good role in Goli Soda 2.
