Lingusamy, a former assistant of directors A. Venkatesh and Vikraman, had come up with a good family drama named Aanandham` starring Mammootty and a host of other actors in the lead and it became a favorite among family audiences for its clean resemblance of a Tamil family. Linguswamy started his career as an assistant director for the films Mahaprabhu` and super hit Vaanathaipola` and molded himself to became a director of neat family entertainer films.

Run`, the critically acclaimed film was praised for its speed paced screenplay and extravagant execution of romance and action. Then Lingu went for a film with Thala Ajith and titled it as Ji`. In the film Ji` Linguswamy handled the political plot fairly well, but the results were unluckily below average.

Bounced back with Sandakozhi`, the first blockbuster in the career of Vishal, Lingu had proved his mettle with this rural entertainer. 'Sandakozhi' paved a path for Vishal to become an action hero, whereas 'Run' did the same for Maddy.

Lingusamy's writing has always been appreciated for the right mix of all the elements that a commercial cinema asks for. 'Bheema' might have given the negative result in the BO, but had gathered appreciations from Vikram fans. After this, the vibrant director had come up with 'Paiyya', one of the biggest blockbusters of the year 2010. The breezy road trip and the pulse-heating action sequences made 'Paiyya' an all time blockbuster.

Lingu's enthusiasm couldn't be restricted and hence he started involving in producing quality ventures like 'Vazhakku En 18/9, 'Kumki', and many more super hits. Been trolled and discouraged for his film 'Anjaan', Lingusamy took it all positive and stayed calm. After a long gap, he's on roll with a super exciting project in hand. Tollywood star Allu Arjun will be making his Kollywood debut through the Production Number 12 of K.E. Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green banner. The yet to be titled film will be directed by Lingusamy as a Tamil-Telugu bilingual.

We at IndiaGlitz on this special day, wishing Lingusamy a super Happy Birthday.
