Dulquer Salmaan, son of Megastar Mammootty, made his acting debut in the 2012 film, Second Show, directed by Sreenath Rajendran. Though the movie was a box-office failure, Dulquer won the Filmfare Best Debutant Actor award that year.
Soon after his debut, Dulquer made his mark in the industry by delivering two back-to-back blockbusters - Ustad Hotel and ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi.
Apparently, Dulquer rejected roles offered to him by South Directors Shyamaprasad and N. Linguswamy in the early days of his acting career. It was because the actor felt that he was yet to learn various aspects of movies. It was after this incident, the actor took up a short term course in cinema.
