Responding to summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate, Lucknow actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s brother appeared before it in connection with the interrogation of an online fraud case.

Actor Siddiqui, who was in the news recently for ‘withdrawing’ his autobiography after his ex-girlfriend objected to certain portions in the book which claimed they had sex on a particular day, and his younger brother Nawab Siddiqui were to attend the interrogation session on Thursday at the Zonal Office of ED in Lucknow.  Emerging after the hour-long investigation, Nawab addressed newsmen.

Nazab termed the allegations as ‘false’ and ‘baseless’. “We have provided sufficient proof to the authorities to prove our innocence,” he said and added that they were ready to respond to summons in future if they were called again. “Nawazuddin couldn’t attend the session today as he had some pre-occupied work,” he informed.

Earlier, the ED found some evidence linking Webwork Trade Links Pvt. Ltd. and a firm run by the Siddiqui brothers in the e-commerce ponzi scheme’s money trail.
