Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada User Review

Story of a true lover… mixed with horror comedy...

Story:

Arjun (Nikil Sidharth) is a college student and reaches early to the examination center to give his final exams. He completes his exam before time and convinces invigilator to leave early as he is getting married same afternoon. He rushes fast to the marriage registrar office along with his friends and eagerly waiting for his lover Ayesha. As hours pass by Ayesha won't show up, dejected Arjun feels bad about his love failure. Marriage registrar suggests his friends to take care of him as youth in that age get addicted to drugs or booze when they fail in love.

Few years later Arjun visits Kerala to help his friend Kishore (Vennela Kishore) for his psychiatric treatment. While at Kerala he comes across a bubbly girl Amala (Hebah Patel) and makes a quick friendship. Amala shares her personal information, her home town and parent`s details with Arjun. Eventually he falls in love with Amala and when he is about to express his love she suddenly disappears from Kerala. After coming back to Hyderabad Arjun is on lookout for Amala. He comes to know that Amala is dead long back and her spirit has taken over Nitya's body (Hebah Patel). Rest of the story is to find out the details of Amala and reach out to Nithya.

Performances:

Nikil has been selecting good movies which are backed by strong stories and screenplay. Ekkadiki Potavu Chinnavada is yet another good movie picked by Nikil that matches his body language and also has interesting plot with good supporting actors. Nikhil performed well and is convincing as a true lover. Vennela Kishore got another meaty role as a friend to hero. He is hilarious with his expressions, dialogs and body language as mentally imbalanced person. Hebah Patel looked odd in traditional wears in the initial part but she is better in western outfits and danced well in a song. Nandita Swetha took a very critical role for a debutant. She gave a good performance in critical scenes. In other prominent roles Comedian Sathya, Praveen performed as needed. Tanikella Bharani and Annapoornamma did cameo in important characters.

Behind The Screen:

Written and Directed by V.I. Anand. Ignoring few logics, VI Anand did a commendable job as far as story and direction are concerned. I'm impressed with his story line, and the way he convinces audience about the unconvincing scenes in the first half. Such gripping second half, story, twists and revelation at the right moment will impress the audience. This genre movies heavily depends on photography and music. Sai Sriram's photography is good so is the BGM by Sharath Chandra. Songs are just OK on screen. Dialogs by Abburi Ravi are apt and gelled with the story.

Commercial Analysis:

Movies starts with an interesting scene and slowly slips into drag mode for the majority of the first half. For first time viewers many scenes may seem unnecessary and unconvincing but once the story picks up audience will be thrilled by the twists and surprises. This is a different movie, have some horror scenes with loud music and may not be suitable for kids. This genre will have special fan base and also those who like to watch a different movie please go ahead but without kids. Very good movie to watch in this genre. Word of caution, ignore logics in some scenes.

Rating: 3.5/5
