It's no news any more that Abhishek Kapoor's upcoming film 'Fitoor' is based on Charles Dickenson's novel The Great Expectations. We were told that the film's lead hero Aditya Roy Kapur is keeping away from reading the novel.

In fact the young actor was suggested by his friends to read the novel before he starts the shoot for this film. The novel could have given him a better understanding of the nuances of his character. However, Aditya who had never read the book does not even want to read it.

Aditya, who is a director`s actor, wants to follow his director Abhishek Kapoor`s vision. In 'Fitoor' he plays a very intense role. Hence he doesn't want pre convinced notions of the book's character. He did not want to get out of the perspective of what Gattu (Abhishek) has given him about his character.

According to him, even if a film is an adaptation of any novel, a director has a complete different visualization of his characters and how he would like his actors portraying them. That`s one of the main reasons why he wants to go with his director`s vision rather than reading the novel.
