Highly talented, stunningly gorgeous and with dazzling versatility in her performances, Nayanthara has risen from just another K-town actress into what we now acknowledge her to be : a Lady Superstar. As Nayanthara steps on to a new year in her life, Indiaglitz wishes the actress a happy birthday!

Though Nayanthara marked her debut with the Malayalam film ‘Manassinakkare’, we came to know the actress as Selvi iin the Tamil movie ‘Ayya’ featuring Sarathkumar in the lead role. After the commercial success of her debut film, Nayanthara soon amazed us with her character in Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Chandramukhi’. Playing the role of a stuttering innocent girl, Nayan already gave us a taste of the magnitude in her performance which we enjoy today.

However, Nayanthara didn’t let the industry typecast her as just a village belle with limited scope. Her high-voltage performance as ‘Sasha’ in Thala Ajith’s ‘Billa’ proved beyond doubts that the actress could emote glam and style with comfort and ease.

Special mention must be made of her role in ‘Naanum Rowdy Thaan’ directed by Vignesh Shivn where she impressed fans and critics alike with just her expressions. Her filmography also includes exceptional films such as ‘Thani Oruvan’, ‘Arrambam’, ‘Raja Rani’ and ‘Iru Mugan’.

One of the reason why the Lady Superstar has managed to be in the top rung of her profession is her boldness in choosing scripts which other actresses would be hesitant about. Nayanthara’s roles in small budget films with not-so-popular artists (even when she is at her peak of fame) speaks volumes about her principle: that film content and character strength are much more important than a star-studded cast.

When we were already awe-struck at  Nayanthara’s impressive career progression, the actress is now bringing about a change in how directors and writers view their female leads. Nayanthara’s portfolio is filled with impressive films where female protagonists rule the script . Examples: ‘Maya’, ‘Dora’, ‘Aram’. ‘Aram’ demands a special mention here as it is a film which also breaks the perceptions of performance limitations on actresses.

Thus Nayanthara has and will continue to amaze audiences with her performances. Indiaglitz wishes the talented Nayanthara a happy birthday and a prosperous career ahead!
