Hero Motocorp is the world’s largest motorcycle and scooter manufacturer. Hero separated from its erstwhile joint venture partner 'Honda,' 10 years ago. The manufacturer celebrates its 10th anniversary this month. This two-wheeler company has now created a new Guinness world record.

Now, Hero is the Guinness World Records holder for the ‘Largest Motorcycle Logo.' While the record was set on July 29, they unveiled it on August 9, the day when Hero Motocorp completes 10 years of solo operations. The 10-year celebrations also coincide with the company reaching the 100 million two-wheeler sales mark since its inception.

Hero made use of 1,845 black coloured Splendor+ motorcycles to achieve this feat. The motorcycles were assembled in an empty field measuring 1000ft x 800ft. This field was within the company’s manufacturing facility in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh but they had to level the area so that they had a flat canvas to work with. The entire endeavour took 90 days to complete during which a team of 100 people put in about 300 hours worth of work.

Also, The Splendor-maker has announced that it sold over one lakh units of bikes and scooters in retail sales in a single day on August 9th – that coincides with the brand’s 10th anniversary. Hero MotoCorp says that this retail sale included both domestic sales and exports and is a record number of actual sales to customers in a non-festive period.

The company says that the record number was achieved due to the retail demand for Hero MotoCorp's range of products across segments – entry, deluxe and premium, including scooters and in markets across geographies. Hero MotoCorp also doubled its daily average sales of scooters on the Hero Day of 9th August with an overwhelming demand for the two-wheelers including newly launched Maestro Edge, Destini & Pleasure.
