Story

Hidimbha revolves around the perplexing disappearance of multiple girls in Hyderabad, putting immense pressure on the police force. Analysis

"Hidimbha" presents an intriguing premise, effectively introducing an ancient tribe into the narrative. The connection between the tribe and the central storyline is well depicted. While the film gains momentum in the second half, the initial half-hour, including investigation scenes and the love track, may feel somewhat sluggish for the audience. The portrayal of the crimes and the flashback episodes revealing Hidimbha's story and its link to the murders are well executed.

However, the climax lacks the required intensity and narration to deliver a satisfying conclusion. The film excels in cinematography and music, boasting remarkable visual effects. The incorporation of solid music and sound design further enhances the movie's impact. The editing and dubbing are well done, though the screenplay in the latter part of the film could have been improved.

The transformation of Ashwin Babu is brought out well but from thereon things fall flat as the narration is jaded and does not excite you much. His logic behind what he is doing is not effectively executed. The climax is rushed and ends on a sudden note. This spoils the interest of the audience and they get perplexed. Nandita Swetha delivers a strong performance, although her impact as a cop could have been more powerful. Markand Despande impresses as a Hidimbha clan descendant, successfully creating an eerie atmosphere with his appearance.

Ashwin Babu, playing the main lead, does a commendable job, especially in action sequences, but his portrayal in the latter part of the film feels a bit over the top. Also, one of the biggest drawbacks of the film is the logic. There are so many logics that go missing in the film. Be it the cop angle, or the villain, there are many issues that keep lingering as doubts even after you come out of the theaters. Director Aneel Kanneganti has his craft cut out and narrates the investigation part well but the rest is a mess.

Verdict

Hidimbha offers an interesting storyline with thrills, but it falls short in its execution and hurried climax. Nevertheless, it manages to create an intriguing factor that might appeal to audiences who enjoy unique films. In conclusion, "Hidimbha" has a good story, but the narration occasionally goes over the top, impacting the overall end result of the film.
