Taking potshots at the BJP and defending himself, Pawan Kalyan earlier in the day said that when nobody asked for his political experience when he supported the NDA in the run up to the 2014 alliance, why is it that they are mocking his lack of experience only now. "It has been three years since the BJP and the TDP came to power at the Centre and the State, respectively. I didn't put them inconvenient questions to them. I gave them enough time."

Pawan iterated that although he could have spoken about the Note for Vote issue when it happened, he didn't do so because he felt that public issues might take a backseat. "Moreover, I would have come out strongly if TDP was the first party to be accused of doing that. Every party is guilty of horse-trading. I am not condoning it," the Jana Sena party chief said.

He found fault with the "unilateral ways" of Narendra Modi and Chandrababu Naidu. Saying that the controversies surrounding the Pune film institute, Rohith Vemula's suicide and demonetization were problematic, Pawan said that the NDA at the Centre had not been empathetic to public sensitivities. "I supported the NDA in 2014 because the incumbent government had been neglecting people's woes. But the new government has been making excuses," he lamented.

He accused Venkaiah Naidu of practicing opportunistic politics. "Politicians speak different things when they are not in power and when they are in power. They are saying that they will bestow special status not for five years, but ten years. Are they gods to give 'prasadam'? Aren't you humans like the rest? Are we your slaves? We are the people of this country. Don't talk as you like," he lashed out.

On the AP CM, he said, "The reason why I backed him in 2014 is that he has a vast administrative experience. I felt that his experience was indispensable for the new State. It's his moral failure that he is not trying to get Special Category Status for AP. Since he has given the word, he should fulfill the promise. After supporting Demonetization, he changed his stance five times. He has to tell the people why he has compromised on the issue of SCS. Why is he trying to convince the people that special package is enough?

Pawan Kalyan said that he knew the Jallikattu protests would skyrocket even one month before the events unfolded. Saying that the protests were not about the bull fighting game, but the anger of the youths in the wake of the BJP's dominance in Tamil Nadu following Jayalalithaa's death, Pawan analyzed that what the political leaders couldn't do to defend Dravida culture against the pre-eminence of the BJP, the people have done.

He reiterated that he had no personal rivalry with any of the BJP leaders and that he will talk only in public interest. "I have differed with my own brother for the sake of people," he said.

"The TDP government is coming across as a mini-BJP government. Why are they compromising on SCS? When you are not with the public, why should I be with you? I won't keep quiet if Venkaiah Naidu talks as he likes. They are saying SCS is not a 'sanjeevani'. Then why did they promise it?" he lashed out.

He slammed Sujana Chowdhary and Rayapati for mocking him for taking inspiration from the Jallikattu protests. "There is no answer on the Polavaram project. What about defaulted loans? When there are faults with you, how can you question the public? If you can, fight for special status. But don't mock those who are doing the fight. If Chandrababu Naidu is inspired by the late Singapore leader Lee Kuan Yew, he should implement his ways."

He said that permission should have been given for the planned silent protest in Vizag. "They should have permitted it for at least an hour. They may have stopped the movement, but they can't stop the anger. Not with police, but through policies that you should govern," he said.
