Holidays announced as Chennai gears up for intense rainfall

Chennai which seemed to be breathing for a while again received incessant rains since last night. Parts of Chennai namely Guindy, West Mambalam, Padi, Nungambakkam, Rayapuram, Kodungaiyur, Mahalingapuram and Mogappair have been experiencing rainfall.

Keeping this in mind, today schools in Chennai, Kancheepuram and Thiruvallur districts were announced holidays by their respective district collectors. However, colleges will function with no change in their semester exam schedules.
