The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has set up 198 Indira Canteen in corporation limits to support the hungry stomachs with very reasonable rates. What about for the rural Karnataka is the immediate thought that has come to Karnataka government.

It is Savi Ruchi Kai Thththu` scheme from government of Karnataka at district level. It is portable canteen especially to meet the working women. The portable canteens would be maintained by women is another notable feature.

In the last budget Karnataka government in budget made announcement of Sanchari Canteens`. On the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi November 19, this canteen would be inaugurated.

Rs.10 lakh worth vehicle will be allocated for women entrepreneurs. In the vehicle itself the preparation of Savi Ruchi` would be possible. Wherever the vehicle makes a stop, the sitting arrangements and table would be set up.

The vegetarian and non vegetarian food would be served with other condiments. The food in some cases will be according to the district food system. In Bengaluru 10 canteens would travel. In Mysuru, Mangaluru, Hubballi the vehicles with food move for the requirement.

At the government hospital, educational institutions, Vidhana Soudha, Vikasa Soudha, multi storied buildings where government offices are located will be concentrated for providing food.

The rate card for menu will not be on the lines of Indira Canteen. It is on upper side says State Mahala Development Board president Bharathi Shanker. A few months after implementation of mobile canteens there will be no charge from government side. Later on a monthly basis Rs.10000 is the installment amount for providing the capital to run the canteen.
