A condolence meet to remember Sridevi was on Sunday held in Hyderabad under the aegis of T Subbarami Reddy. The event was graced by several Telugu film industry celebs.

Speaking on the occasion, TSR said, "I knew Sridevi for 40 years. When she died, I was shocked as the rest of the country. She was always very dear to my daughter. A great actress and a human being she was. It's no joke that our girl went on to do 70 films in Hindi. I co-produced 'Lamhe' and 'Chandini' with Yash Chopra. Sridevi had no financial problems as many believe. When her career was taking off, her mother bought lands in Chennai. Sridevi several times asked me to advice whether she should sell them off and buy lands in Hyderabad."

Krishnam Raju said, "No matter how much we hail her, it doesn't suffice. I could do only 4-5 films with her. She was such an amazing actress. Some of the roles she played, nobody else would have been able to do that well. She was always a co-operative artist. When we remade 'Bobbili Brahmanna' in Hindi, she readily gave us dates. She always used to call me 'Sir'. She would respect the elders. Recently, she was telling me that I should celebrate the 50 years of my completion in the film industry."

P Suseela said, "I happened to sing a song for her when she was all of 8. She has left behind sweet memories. She seemed like an angel from the God's world."

Jayaprada said, "Sridevi competed with herself as an actress. We both did 15 films in Hindi. We both competed with each other in a healthy way. I still can't believe she is not amidst us."

Jayasudha said, "I am unable to digest her passing away. We both did 9-10 films together. Our family had good relations with her. I wish that her daughters will make it big. My mother and Sridevi's mother were good friends. She was a buddy of my sister Subhashini, too. She would always address me as 'Jayasudha Garu'. I would always be in Chennai for her birthday. When I heard about her death, it felt like something cathartic happened to me. I couldn't bear to see her on even TV. I switched on the TV for 20 seconds to catch her last glimpse. She looked like the child artist she was."

Paruchuri Gopalakrishna said, "I happened to watch 'Badi Pantulu' when I was working as a lecturer. Even though she has done innumerable films since then, the image of the child Sridevi has stayed in my mind forever. It was on 'Anuraga Devatha' that we first worked with her. If Ramanaidu garu made her the film industry's 'Devatha', NTR garu made her an 'Anuraga Devatha'."

Dr. Rajasekhar said, "Her father Ayyappan garu and my father knew each other. She will always be a member of every Indian household. May God give her family the strength to get over the loss."

Kota Srinivas Rao said, "I did a couple of films with her. God took her away from us after she completed 50 years as an actress."

Jagapathi Babu said, "May she live forever in our hearts. I pray that God gives her family all the strength."

Allu Aravind said, "I happened to visit her house in Mumbai soon after she got married to Boney Kapoor. I can't forget her hospitality. It's because she is huge for us. I almost cried in my heart. I recently read the open letter on her by Ram Gopal Varma. I came to know how sensitive she was."

Amala Akkineni said, "Sridevi garu was a beautiful, fabulous artist. Her untimely death is tragic. I pray that her soul rests in peace."

The event was also graced by Jeevitha, Pinky Reddy, Upasana Kamineni, Sobhana Reddy, Sumanth, Naresh, Shivaji Raja, Ali, Kavitha, Relangi Narasimha Rao, Babu Mohan and others.
