Fresh talents are hogging the limelight in Tamil cinema. Joining the list is music composer Rafi. In Sarath Kumar - Shriya starrer `Jaggubhai', he has come up with songs that are a right mix of melody and western beats.

With singers like Shankar Mahadevan, Hariharan and Sunitha Sarathy, Rafi has presented an album that is catchy and attractive.

1. Apple Laptop - Listen here

Singer: Shankar Mahadevan, Chinmayee

The music director has rendered a catchy composition that is loaded with instruments. But still it is cool and comfortable to listen to. Shankar Mahadevan and Chinmayee present the song with grace. Kabilan's lyric is worth listening to.

2. Thuru Thuru - Listen here

Singer: Maheshwari Rani

The song by Kadhalmathi, is very trendy and more a hip-hop stuff. A kind of pop number, it has good use of violins and guitars. Rafi has managed to give the song a sophisticated feel. Maheshwari Rani's energy in rendering the song is praise-worthy. There is also a slow version of the song rendered by Sunitha Sarathy.

3. Yezhu Vannathil - Listen here

Singer:  Hariharan, Maheshwari Rani

Seemingly inspired by a Classical raaga, Rafi has woven a song that is soft and melodious. Kabilan's lyrics sung by the evergreen Hariharan in the company of Maheshwari Rani would strike you immediately. Rafi has laced it with enough beats to give it a new feel.

4. Vaa... Dhinam Dhinam - Listen here

Singer: Sunitha Sarathy

More like a Goa folk song, this one by Sunitha Sarathy penned to celebrate Friendship Day by Na Muthukumar, sounds different from the rest. It proceeds in one pace and continues in the same vein all through.

5. Anbulla Maan Vizhiyae (Remix) - Listen here

Singer: Rafi, Maheshwari Rani

It's a remix of a yesteryear Jayashankar hit song. Rafi has remixed it exceedingly well. Also, he himself takes the job of singing the number. Interestingly it attracts for it is not like the routine remixes.

6. Acham, Madam - Listen here

Singer: Suchitra

This one is stunning. A rocking song that may be well-suited for dance floors, Acham, Madam....has a lot of synthesized sounds. Suchitra impresses with her cool rendition. Rafi's instrumentation is scintillating.

To sum it up, newcomer Rafi has tried interestingly innovative things and has emerged successful.
