Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor's Telugu-language debut is not happening any time soon. In her latest interview, she has refuted the gossip that she is the heroine of 'Jana Gana Mana', starring Vijay Deverakonda in the lead. 'JGM', to be released in August 2023, is directed by Puri Jagannadh.

"Don’t believe in speculations. I haven’t signed any Telugu or Tamil film yet," the 'Dhadak' actress told a Mumbai-based media house. She added that her team or the makers of the concerned film will make the announcement officially if ever she is roped in for a South Indian movie.

Janhvi and Vijay have become friends of late.

Janhvi is the daughter of the late Sridevi. “I am closer to Janu and Khushi (elder daughter) is closer to Boney ji (husband). But we are honest with each other and extremely close. Khushi is far more independent than Janhvi," the legendary actress said in an interview in 2017. Sridevi passed away in February, 2018.
