Noted actor Ranbir Kapoor, known for his power-packed performances, in his latest outings tasted glory in the films 'Brahmastra: Part 1: Shiva', 'Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar', and 'Animal'. Now, he is set to step closer to the world of celluloid by playing Lord Rama in the big-budget project of the epic Indian mythological saga, Ramayana. Nitesh Tiwari will direct this big-budget project.

Earlier, it was reported that in KGF fame, Yash would be Ravana, Vijay Sethupathi would be Vibhishan, and Sunny Deol would be in the role of Lord Hanuman. In the beginning, it was said that Sai Pallavi would be the goddess Sita. But according to the recent update on Firstpost, it says that Janhvi Kapoor, popular for her work in 'Dhadak', will play the role of Goddess Sita. It looks like Kapoor's earlier work experience with the director Nitesh Tiwari in 'Bawaal' impressed the makers, and they thought of her as the best fit for the role.

This is because, reportedly, Ranbir Kapoor would have to avoid alcohol and meat till the completion of 'Ramayana' as he would be essaying the character of Lord Rama. The shooting of the movie will begin soon, and it has a release date of 2025.

Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor is gearing up for her role in the film 'Mr. and Mrs. Mahi' alongside Rajkummar Rao. Karan Johar's Dharma Productions is producing the film, with Sharan Sharma at the helm for the second time after 'Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl'. 'Mr. and Mrs. Mahi' is expected to hit the screens on April 19th.

In the meantime, on another front, Ranbir Kapoor is on his way towards the film "Love and War" by Sanjay Leela Bhansali with Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt. The audience is slated to view "Love and War" on the Christmas weekend of 2025.
