Renowned for their John Wick series, Lionsgate and 87Eleven Entertainment are poised to rework the Indian action thriller "Kill" in English. Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat and produced by well-known Indian filmmaker Karan Johar, the Hindi-language original releases in India on July 5.

"Kill," which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival and showed at the Midnight Madness of the Toronto International Film Festival, centers Indian Army commando Amrit (Lakshya) on a mission to save Tulika (Tanya Maniktala), aboard a train headed for New Delhi. Drawn by the film's violent action and gripping narrative, Chad Stahelski, Jason Spitz, and Alex Young of 87Eleven Entertainment will oversee the remake.

"Nikhil delivers relentless action sequences that need to be seen by as wide an audience as possible," Stahelski said of the original. Creating an English-language variation excites me.

The remake emphasizes the increasing global attraction of Indian movies. The producers noted the movie's good reception at international festivals and expressed delight about the cooperation. "When we developed 'Kill,' we imagined a narrative that would appeal worldwide," they stated, as Deadline reported. "Partnership with 87Eleven Entertainment and Lionsgate marks a major turning point for Indian film."

The original cast—including Tanya Maniktala, Raghav Juyal, and Lakshya—was praised for their performances. Reaching a larger English-speaking audience, the remake seeks to remain true to the original's spirit.

Keanu Reeves stars in the John Wick franchise, which runs three movies; the most recent one came out last year. Set for June 6, 2025, Ana de Armas's next chapter, "Ballerina," is still to be written.
