Close on the heels of a complaint by 'Kaavalan' producer Romesh Babu, director Sakthi Chidambaram, who claims himself the co-producer of the Vijay starrer, on Thursday met Chennai city Police Commissioner J K Tripathy and filed a counter-complaint.

Sakthi Chidambaram, who was accompanied by his advocate, said that Romesh Babu enrolled him as a co-producer for the film after receiving Rs 10 crore. "But the movie faced roadblocks due to various reasons," he said.

"When the project ran into trouble before its release, Romesh Babu assured that he would return the money. But he had not repaid the money even after Kaavalan's release," Sakthi Chidambaram alleged.

On Tuesday, Romesh Babu accused Sakthi Chidambaram of criminal intimidation. After lodging a police complaint, Romesh Babu said Sakthi Chidambaram was attempting to usurp Rs 2.75 crore that Sun TV was to have paid the producer for satellite rights of the film.
