Singer Chinmayi, a couple of weeks back made shocking allegations of sexual misconduct on legendary lyricist and Tamil scholar Vairamuthu which has caused a huge furor in Kollywood and nationally as well. Vairamuthu has since responded by stating that he is innocent and will face any case in court regarding the issue for which he has collected strong pieces of evidence to prove his innocence.

After a long silence on the issue that has lasted more than a fortnight Vairamuthu's eldest son Kabilan Vairamuthu has a shot a big letter in which he has defended his dad. Written in Tamil, Kabilan has pointed out that the Me Too is an alien movement that has entered India and its motives and its evolution is tough for him to assess right now. However, according to the lyricist and dialogue writer, it poses a great danger to the Indian society as men and women can throw baseless allegations against each other through it.

About his father Vairamuthu, Kabilan has refreshed the public about how he was born in a village that does not find a place in the map of India but he became one of the most celebrated persons from there. He speaks highly of how his mother a Tamil professor and father started a loving life as husband and wife in a small house in Triplicane and brought up two sons and all four serving Tamil and Tamilians.

Kabilan, in his letter focuses on how the public are divided regarding allegations on his father with one section seeing it as a political vendetta while the other denying it. Whatever it may be the legal system will bring the truth to light. He has requested the people not to see this issue as a big entertainment and become distracted to other burning issues that the nation is facing. Kabilan's letter in Tamil is posted below.
