In May 2021, Tamil Nadu is going to witness elections, and all political parties are gearing up for election campaigns and plans to woo voters to make them gain power. Without Karunanidhi and Jayalalithaa, the state is witnessing an election.

Actor Kamal Haasan's political Party Makkal needhi maiam which was launched in 2018 February also contested in the 2019 lok sabha elections is contesting the May 2021 elections and today Kamal Haasan met the press regarding this.

Kamal Haasan said that this time he will himself contesting elections and that he'll make an official announcement on his constituency later. He added that he won't make opinions against others beliefs and that he's a rationalist. Further he said that BJP can't do politics with Rajnikanth and can probably do a movie with Rajnikanth.
