Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan' is undoubtedly one of the highly anticipated biggies of the year. The epic period historical fiction drama, adopted from the prestigious novel of the same name by Kalki, holds huge inception among the fans. The shooting was wrapped up months back, and the post-production work is progressing at a brisk pace.

Now, the latest reports suggest that the makers are shooting some patchwork with Karthi and Jayam Ravi in Mumbai. Karthi plays the main protagonist Vandhiyathevan Vallavarayan and Ravi essays the titular role. According to sources, patchwork scenes related to Karthi and Jayam Ravi are being shot in Mumbai. A scene where Vandiyathevan jumps into the sea and escapes from the ship was reportedly filmed yesterday. It is also being said that Aishwarya Rai is also present at the patchwork schedule.
 

Meanwhile, some fans spotted Karthi and Jayam Ravi together in a restaurant in Mumbai amid the busy patch schedule of 'Ponniyin Selvan'. A picture from their reunion is currently going viral on the internet. A selfie of Aishwarya Rai with her makeup team from Mumbai is also doing rounds. The first look posters of the movie's primary characters landed on social media recently and 'Ponniyin  Selvan 1' is slated to hit the screens on September 30. Isai Puyal AR Rahman has scored music for the magnum opus project.
