KFC has tendered an apology to Indians for a social media post its Pakistan office made last year. KFC Pakistan reportedly made a post supporting the Freedom for Kashmir movement. Kashmir is an integral part of India and any corporate entity supporting Pakistan's claim is deemed to have made a statement against India's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

After a controversy cropped up on social media regarding the old post on Monday, KFC India issued an apology, "We deeply apologize for a post that was published on some KFC social media channels outside the country. We honour and respect India, and remain steadfast in our commitment to serving all Indians with pride," the fast food MNC chain said.

Several Netizens and commentators have called out Hyundai, KFC and PizzaHut that have made statements against India's sovereignty in the past. "Organised campaign by brands in Pakistan against India has been on. Global brands have always stayed away from geo-political issues but Hyundai, KFC, PizzaHut have been unwise. Their bosses should have known better, in choosing Pakistan over India," wrote columnist Arvind Gupta.
