Lakshmi Rai, the girl from Belgaum, is pinning lots of hopes on her forthcoming film Dharmapuri opposite Vijayakanth and directed by Perarasu.

Expressing joy of being part of a big venture, Lakshmi Rai, says, 'I am sure the movie will be a success. The songs are good, and so is the script. Moreover, it involves a big director and a popular production house. So I am expecting good results. Also, acting with an experienced actor like Vijayakanth was a great learning experience for me.’

Perarasu had approached few popular actresses to be part of the movie initially. However they had rejected and hence the baton was passed to Lakshmi Rai.

'I don't know why they refused it. Vijayakanth is a popular hero and acting with him is a good way of learning the nuances, so I took up the offer.'

Asked whether she would continue to do glamour roles, the actress says, 'glamour is integral part of being an actress. I hope Dharmapuri clicks and helps me continue my good run in the industry'.
