SP Charan has given an update on the health of his father, SP Balasubrahmanyam, who has been hospitalized since August 5. Charan said that SPB continues to be critical but stable.

"Dad is in the same condition as he was yesterday. He is stable. Doctors are calling him critical. There are no complications and doctors feel that it's a very good sign. I would like to thank you all for your prayers, wishes, the concern and the love that you all are showing," Charan said in a video message.

He ended the message saying that God is great and that people's prayers are great.

Earlier in the day, Superstar Rajinikanth put out a video message and prayed for SPB's speedy recovery. He also said that he is happy that SPB has "crossed the danger zone".
