Salute! Leonardo DiCaprio donates huge amount to fight Amazon rainforest fire

Right from the start of the year, there have been a staggering 85,000 forest fires in Brazil.  The Amazon rainforests are known as the lungs of the world for contributing majorly for the regulation of the carbon cycle and climate.  Sadly now an unimaginable 2.3 million acres of the forests have been affected by the raging fires and there have been voices from all over the world crying for action.

Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio a fierce environmental activist has shelled out 5 million dollars (roughly 36 Crores of rupees) to local indigenous groups who are fighting to save the Amazon.  He has shared "Aerial footage shows the world's largest rainforest in flames. Brazil's Amazon is known as "the planet's lungs" for producing about 20 per cent of the world's oxygen. This inferno threatens the rainforest ecosystem and also affects the entire globe.

Leonardo DiCaprio's latest released movie 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' directed by Quentin Tarantino has won high critical acclaim and he is tipped to be nominated for the Oscar Awards for Best Actor.
