Producer BA Raju and Dynamic Lady Director B Jaya have teamed up for a rom-com. Titled 'Lucky Fellow', the film will be shot from June onwards.

On the eve of the director's birthday tomorrow (Jan 11), the makers on Wednesday spoke to journalists.

B Jaya said, "My previous film ('Vaisakham') gave me immense satisfaction. The audience made it a big hit. I received appreciation from one and all. We are now going to make 'Lucky Fellow' on RJ Cinemas. We will start the shoot in June and will complete the production works in 3-4 months. Script work is currently on. A young hero will play the male lead. We will announce his name soon. Some people hit the jackpot by chance. We call such people lucky. That's the hero's characterization in the movie. How does the hero receive such a chance? Will he abuse the chance? Or will he lap it up? The film's subject uncorks the human psychology."

The heroine's characterization, too, will be strong, the director says. "The film is going to have an underlying message. The heroine is there not just for the rom-com track. She represents the thinking of today's girls, who are molested by men at several places. Women can't forget such things. Such incidents haunt them for several days. This is what the heroine's character will show in my movie. 'Lucky Fellow' will not be just about entertainment; there is more to it," B Jaya adds.

She hopes that 'Lucky Fellow' will be a bigger hit than 'Lovely', one of her best movies till date.

"There was a time when I was the only woman journalist working with 'Andhra Jyothi'. When I was a visiting professor at Eenadu's journalism school, many women took inspiration from me. Today, we see so many lady journalists. In the same way, I hope that I will inspire many women to take up film direction," Jaya says.

"I don't intend to do a web series. My focus is entirely on films, which have got a far greater appeal than web series," she says.
