We have seen free condom-dispensing machines in different parts of the country. An Indian state is now witness to another such praiseworthy initiative. Sanitary napkins will be dispensed for free by machines to be set up in all government colleges across the state of Rajasthan. A decision regarding this has been taken by the new Congress government in the economically-backward state.
This move is expected to help lakhs of poor girls going to colleges in Rajasthan. Arrangements will be made for the installation of machines from the coming academic year.
The previous government, led by Vasundhara Raje, had started a similar initiative in various government schools and railway stations.
