'Mahanati', the critically-acclaimed blockbuster, has a new feather in its cap. The Savitri biopic has been selected for the 22nd Shanghai International Film Festival, which is one of the most coveted festivals valued internationally. The event will be held in Shanghai, China, in the month of June.

It's learned that the Keerthy Suresh-Nag Ashwin movie is the only Indian film to get the honour of being selected by the SIFF jury. The Telugu-language masterpiece has been selected under the International Panorama section.

Starring also Dulquer Salmaan as Gemini Ganesan, the versatile Samantha Akkineni, the rising star Vijay Deverakonda and 'Nata Kireeti' Rajendra Prasad, it released last year in May.
