The much-awaited 'Mimi' went into labour early and shocked everyone leaving them equally ecstatic that they got to see the ever-gorgeous Kriti Sanon sooner and which is also by far the best performance of hers to date! The makers had already given a more-than-required glimpse in the movie's trailer despite it being a remake of the Marathi film "Mala Aai Vhhachy" Majority of the people could guess what the majority of the film was about to be, but with its stellar cast and stand-out deliveries from Pankaj Tripathi, Sai Tamhankar, Manoj Pahwa, Supriya Pathak and none other than the leading lioness of the film, Kriti Sanon just make the film a cure to the sore eye.

The film delivers the message of Surrogacy in a comically subtle way. The film revolves around Mimi (Kriti Sanon), who just somehow wants to get into Bollywood and Bhanu (Pankaj Tripathi) is a driver who wants to earn and make it big. A foreign couple searches for a surrogate and somehow that responsibility falls on Bhanu and he finds Mimi and butters her up to make her agree to be the surrogate of the foreign couple. The twist in the tale arises when the foreign couple refuses to own the baby. What will Mimi do now? How will she face her family and society? What steps does she take in life? That forms the story.

The film evokes gushes of emotions time and again and it gives us a fair share of tears too, like literally! Director Laxman Utekar brings a contemporary theme to life and adds perfect emotions which peak at the right interval. The length of the film is also perfect and it has fun and drama nicely balanced. AR Rahman too packs a punch with his mesmerizing background score and songs like 'Param Sundari' and 'Rihaayi De' are already fan favourites!

Overall, it is a well-knit funny family drama film with a unique and refreshing storyline. Kriti Sanon leads from the front with all cylinders with Pankaj Tripathi being the backbone of Mimi. This performance of Kriti is going to go down as one of the best and does deserve a Filmfare for 'Best Actress'. If you haven't watched it yet, you definitely should!
