Experimentation in Tollywood is hard to come by. Everybody takes the easy way out ----they go formula-filled cliched films.

Only the truly committed and artistic make bold to shun the beaten path and try to blaze new trails.

Venki belongs to this category. The director of Mogudu Pellam O Dongodu has made a film with just three characters.

Yes, it is about a man, wife and a thief on their first night.

Raja, Shriya and Brahmanandam are playing the roles of husband, wife and thief respectively in this 3-character film while Vakada Appa Rao who dubbed Rajnikant's blockbuster Basha (1995) on Sri Ramalayam banner is producing this film as production number 2.

Venki has previously made Kabaddi, Kabaddi.

Mogudu Pellam O Dongodu, he says, is a romantic comedy.

For Raja, who is emerging as a big talent this is an important film to show that he can shoulder the responsibility of a full movie on his young shoulders. For Shriya, enduring the biggest poor form anyone could think of (nearly six flops in a row), this is a major test by fire.

The film's music is by Kabuli, another youngster who has had a stint with A R Rehman. This film has 5 full-length songs. Vasu has handled camera.

The film has been shot in Rajahmundry and Hyderabad.

The film is set for release in August.
