In an interesting news, mobile phone networks are no longer limited to earth. Scientists are working towards the setting up of mobile phone networks on the moon. Yes, you read that right. Reportedly, the moon will be getting its first 4G mobile network next year.
The reason for the same is to enable lunar exploration vehicles to send back high definition data to the earth’s base station efficiently. Vodafone Germany, Nokia and reputed car manufacturer Audi have teamed up with space exploration scientists to make this possible. This is said to be a part of the first ever privately funded lunar mission.
