Amid reports that attacker Srinivas is a YS Jagan Mohan Reddy fan, some YSRCP leaders are alleging that the assassination bid on their leader is a conspiracy hatched by the TDP.

Speaking to a TV channel, YSRCP's general secretary Mahendar Reddy said, "Our leader has criss-crossed 3200 km to know the problems of the people. The Telugu Desam couldn't bear it. They know they can't stop him from becoming the CM. We came to know that, for the past one week, security lapses began to happen at the airport. We demand a CB-CID inquiry into the assassination bid."

"I want to tell Chandrababu Naidu that people are seeing everything. When YSRCP comes to power, law and order will be improved and everyone will be given a safe environment," said another leader.

"Our leader was attacked with a sharp object. Had the assailant managed to stab him in the neck, the situation would have been out of control in the state today," a YSRCP activist said.
