Actor Naveen Chandra has made a confident debut with Andhala Rakshasi. He continued to win accolades from the audiences with films like Dhalam and Bham Bholenath. He is awaiting the release of horror-thriller Tripura. On that note, the actor talks about the film and his role in an interview with the media.

I was selected because of my eyes

I play a Psychiatrist named Naveen Chandra in Tripura. My role also has a different shade which you will get to know after watching the film. Director Raaj Kiran liked my eyes and offered me the role.

Tripura is a typical girl

Swathi played a typical role in Tripura. She gives importance to family values. She doesn`t even spare her husband, if he does a minor mistake. How a dream perceived by her brought a lot of changes in her films is the crux of Tripura. Believe me she delivered an amazing performance.

Initially, I was nervous…

I was initially tensed as to how I will perform when paired opposite a senior actress like Swathi. But, she bonded with me well and supported me throughout the film. Our chemistry worked like a charm as a husband and a wife.

My hands shivered tying the knot…

I was relaxed till I sat in the mandap for the marriage scene in the film. By seeing the frenzy on the sets, I questioned myself that is this going to be a real marriage? Though I have seen my sisters getting married, this is my first marriage scene in a film. When the director asked me to tie the knot, my hands shivered. Even Swathi felt uncomfortable working for that scene. Luckily, we completed it in a single take.

Not a regular horror film…

Tripura is going to given an altogether different experience to audience. The film is not made in regular horror-format. The horror elements in the film are going to be novel. I am sure the audiences will engage and travel with the story.

No clean shave please…

Usually, we see Doctors sporting a clean shaven look. But Raaj Kiran asked me not to shave my beard. Before shooting for the film, I went to meet my friends who are Doctors by profession. I observed their body language and it helped me to carry my role well.

All the roles are impressive

I am sure all the characters in the film will be unique and interesting in their own way. Rao Ramesh, Shakalaka Shankar, Sapthagiri and Pooja played pivotal roles. Especially, Shakalaka Shanakr and Sapthagiri`s sequences will leave the audience in splits of laughter.

LOL is ready for release

My upcoming film Lakshmideviki O Lekkundi is ready for release. Besides this, I didn`t sign any new movie. I wanted to work in a film which is laced with a wonderful story.

Getting married soon…

My marriage is fixed. I will reveal the details of the bride soon. Although I am happy with what I am doing, I wanted to get married only after I cement my place in the industry. If everything goes as planned, I will soon divulge all the details of my marriage with you.
