Last year, in the run-up to the MAA elections, several film personalities traded barbs. It made for strange news. Of late, things have calmed down in Tollywood. All of a sudden, however, a star film director and a well-known cine writer have exchanged barbs on Twitter.

It all began with writer-director BVS Ravi of 'Wanted' and 'Jawaan' fame saying that authoritarian leaders are shown the door by people at the first opportunity. It's not clear which leader (or is it a sly reference to someone in the film industry?) Ravi was talking about. Harish Shankar made a tweet questioning the wisdom behind a word used in the tweet. Ravi got back and said that it was a satirical take from him.

A war of words took off and Ravi made a couple of posts taunting the 'Gabbar Singh' director. He then deleted the tweets, prompting the 'DJ' director to further question his online behaviour.

At one point, Ravi told Shankar that he was surprised that the latter was talking about the importance of good behaviour. "I think this is the first time you are talking about good behaviour," Ravi hit back saying. The 'Gaddalakonda Ganesh' director then tweeted that he doesn't need to talk about good behaviour when he behaves well routinely.

Ravi suggested that Shankar was ranting on Twitter to kill his loneliness. At this, the latter said that being a loner is better than being timid (Ravi is timid because he had deleted his own tweets, Shankar meant to say).

The real reason behind the war of words is unknown. Shankar using the word 'Unstoppable' in his tweet against Ravi is interesting. Ravi is associated with the Balakrishna talk show streaming on AHA.
